Itturned out to be a clinical display by the Rawlinson-led Brahmans.

Followinga Binalong set play, Nathan Schofield crossed the Woden line first and scoredunder the black dot. Rawlinson obliged with the conversion and so it went on.

WhileBinalong were good, Woden weren’t at their best. Their attack lacked venom andtheir defence was shaky. For most of the game the Rams seemed out of theirdepth.

TheBrahmans were quick to capitalise on their opponents’ mistakes, Shaun Davis andBen Potts were particularly impressive, as was Andrew Swaffield and Dave Ings.Binalong’s back line constantly caused problems for the Rams’ defence.Captain-coach Chris Rawlinson also had a good game, constantly barking ordersto his players. He injected himself into the attack at critical moments aswell.

TheWaldren Construction Brahmans took just 45 minutes to defeat Woden by 30 pointsto nil. The most pleasing aspect for Binalong was its defence. This augers wellfor the opening of the George Tooke Shield season, which commences with a homegame for the Brahmans at 2.30pm on Saturday April 6. On the same day, the YassMagpies will host the Harden Hawks at Walker Park.
