West Dubbo’s Fours Championship semi-finals were played on the weekend when Craig Gale, Heath McGuire, Frank Rowe and John Ensbey got through to the final with a win over Dave Jones, John Eastwood, Don Breeze and Adam Lee.
Their opponents in the final will be Pat Dyson-Holland, Anthony Brown, Richard Clarke and Dick Jeffries who got through at the expense of Nathan Morris, Keith Beacroft, Ted Cassidy and Paul Hagarty.
Congratulations to both teams and the final should be a great match.
Last Wednesday evening saw a good roll-up of bowlers for social bowls when the winners were John Ensbey and a visitor from Tasmania John Crossing.
The runners-up were Frank Bartlett, Bruce Fagg and Don Breeze; haircut donated by Karen from West Dubbo Barbers was won by Keith Farlow. The jackpot was not won and now stands at $416 for this week.
Saturday social saw the winners being Max Macadam, Tony Harrison and Mark Morton from Bill Seabrook, Gerry Cole and Pat Dyson-Holland.
Sunday morning West Dubbo had a group of 12 bowlers take to the greens against the Western Region Academy bowls squad. Great bowls were played by these juniors who are showing the benefit of the specialised coaching they are receiving.
Mixed pairs will be played this evening with the games set down for play being skips only, R Jeffries v D Breeze; P Davies v P Morrow; A Lee v M Everett and R Clarke v J Chaseling; 5.30pm start with the play, sub or forfeit rule applying.
