Local exhibition: Suzanne Archer in her Wedderburn studio as she prepares to show many years of her work. Picture: Jonathan NgWEDDERBURN’S Suzanne Archer is exhibiting more than 60 pieces of her artwork — including paintings, sculpture and works on paper — at Campbelltown Arts Centre.
Titled Conversations With The Devil Woman, the exhibition explores the underpinning themes of life and death, beauty and ageing.
“A lot of people know me as a painter but over the years I’ve also done a lot of sculpture work which I get to show,” Archer said.
“I hope people see the other side of me.”
Archer won the Dobell Prize in 2010 and the Wynne Prize in 1994.
She says the famous Wedderburn artistic community is still strong, despite fewer artists living there now.
“It’s quite extraordinary to have such a beautiful environment so close to a big city,” she said.
